In an attempt to help cope with the ongoing problem of distracted driving, researchers at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory are trying to create software that would determine when a user was driving and texting at the same time. Ultimately, the feature would come in the form of an app that would automatically cut off the texting function when a user is driving. The biggest problem with texting while driving is that it pulls focus from the road for over four seconds at a time to read or send a text.
