Fall Hazard Leads to Recall of Shorea Wooden Arc Hammock Stands

Posted on September 28, 2012

The Omaha, Nebraska-based Hayneedle has announced the recall of 131 Shorea Wooden Arc Hammock Stands.  The stand is made up of wood layers that can actually become detached from one another, thus posing a fall hazard to a consumer using the hammock.  Of 18 reported instances of this occurrence, only one has thus far led the user to seek out medical attention.  Hayneedle has vowed to give affected consumers a different unit or a refund.
