Sioux Falls, South Dakota residents packed Carnegie Town Hall for the City Council’s vote on a new distracted driving ban that could hit offenders with a $200 ticket if they are caught texting and driving. The city council members voted unanimously for the ban, citing the benefit it would hopefully provide to public safety. Residents raised worries over how law enforcement would determine who was in breach of the law, and the police chief said it will be up to officers to prove texting took place.
