Detroit, Michigan AT & T Employee Develops Anti-Texting DriveMode App

A Detroit, Michigan-based AT & T employee developed the free mobile application that she and others hope will help save lives by combatting the growing epidemic of texting and driving. The free DriveMode app can be used to automatically respond to incoming calls and text messages with a busy message preprogrammed by the user.  The app is just one facet of AT & T’s “It Can Wait” campaign, which urges drivers to wait until they are done driving before responding to texts.
