Crosswalk Safety Encouraged at Western Connecticut State

Posted on September 5, 2012

A two-day Crosswalk Safety Program was started ten years ago at Western Connecticut State University.  An officer disheartened by a pedestrian collision created the operation, and his efforts are paying off, as that two-day program is being expanded to two entire weeks in order to encourage pedestrian safety at the beginning of school.  The officer who started the program will be giving out free food and drinks to students who utilize a pedestrian safety bridge, and the importance of crosswalks will be emphasized throughout the operation.
