Carcooning Cited for Decreased Driver Awareness

A new report says that motorists have become overly comfortable with and reliant on safety features of current vehicles, to the point of making the roads more dangerous than in the past. The “carcooning” effect refers to this lack of driver awareness to their surroundings. This may be the reason why there have been increased cyclist, motorcyclist, and pedestrian deaths.
