Defective Turn Signal Prompts GM to Recall Almost 5,000 Chevy Sonics

Posted on September 28, 2012

Nearly 5,000 Chevy Sonic vehicles of the 2013 model year have been recalled by General Motors.  At issue is the fact that the driver might potentially not be alerted via a dashboard light to the fact that a turn signal lamp has gone out.  This is due to the Body Control Module not detecting the failure.  Thus, said driver might continue to operate their vehicle, putting themselves and others in danger because other motorists wouldn’t be able to distinguish a turn is about to take place.  The recall is set to begin next week, at which point free repairs will be offered.
