245 Aerial Device Vehicles Recalled by Altec Over Injury Threat

Posted on September 27, 2012

Improper torquing of a critical component has led to the recall of 245 aerial device vehicles from Altec Industries.  Without an accurate torque of the outrigger cylinder piston retention system, the outrigger is in danger of coming loose and hitting somebody.  The vehicles thereby pose an injury hazard.  The piston’s torque will be adjusted for free by dealers, but there is as of yet no word on when that will take place.
