Santa Clara to Use Grants to Improve Pedestrian and Bike Safety

Posted on September 20, 2012

The city of Santa Clara is set to benefit from two grants that will allow them to improve pedestrian safety in the area.  One Highway Safety Improvement Grant worth just over half a million dollars will allow the city to improve traffic signals and thus safety at one particular intersection, while a larger Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant worth $1.3 million will allow for new signage, bicycle lanes, and other improvements that should make it easier for motorists to see bikes and pedestrians.
