Westchester, Illinois Supports “No Text on Board- Pledge Day”

Posted on September 17, 2012

The Village President of Westchester, Illinois has declared September 19 “No Text on Board- Pledge Day.” His hope is that this will create increased awareness of the dangers of texting while driving. The Westchester Police Chief also supports the effort.  She believes greater advertising about the risks of texting while driving is needed, as is greater parental involvement in teenagers’ lives. Studies show that 43% of teens continue to text and drive, even though nearly all teens are aware that it is dangerous.
