I-Flow ON-Q Pump Recalled For Potential Constant Infusion Risk

Posted on September 5, 2012

The I-Flow ON-Q Pump that comes equipped with an ONDEMAND Bolus Button is being recalled because of a potential threat presented by said button.  This infusion device is used before, during, or after surgical procedures to deliver medications such as anesthesia to the area of an incision.  The Bolus Button can get stuck in one position, leading medication to be infused at a non-stop rate and putting the patient at risk of fatality.  These pumps should be quarantined at once.
