PNNL Hoping To Curb Texting While Driving Through New Software

In an attempt to help cope with the ongoing problem of distracted driving, researchers at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory are trying to create software that would determine when a user was driving and texting at the same time. Ultimately, the feature would come in the form of an app that would automatically cut off the texting function when a user is driving. The biggest problem with texting while driving is that it pulls focus from the road for over four seconds at a time to read or send a text.
