Caledonia Police Provide Free Car Seat Checks to Citizens

Posted on September 4, 2012

Around 95% of car seats are not installed the way they’re meant to be. In the city of Caledonia, New York, police recently offered free checks to be sure that the seats in the cars of citizens were installed properly. If seats were in any way deficient, they could be replaced.  15 out of the 22 seats checked were replaced, with little to no fee charged to the owner. Car seats must be replaced eventually because they have a shelf life of six years and can only withstand the force of one car accident.
