Report Urges Enforcement and Education to Improve London Bike Safety

A new opinion column discusses the necessity of London adopting measures that could promote bicycle safety throughout the city.  Cyclist fatalities have reportedly stayed at high levels even as pedestrian and motorist fatalities have declined, while serious injury rates among cyclists actually increase by around 25% every year.  The author argues that improvements need to involve a combination of increased enforcement against cyclists who blithely ignore laws and education efforts meant to raise awareness about those laws.  He also favors improvements in road engineering.
