QR National Rolls Out Height Detection Tech During Rail Safety Week

Posted on August 13, 2012

This week is Rail Safety Week all across New Zealand and Australia, so it’s only appropriate that QR National is using the event as an opportunity to promote their over-height detection equipment technology.  Many rail crossings across Australia have power lines overhead which carry over 25,000 volts of electricity.  If a truck comes into contact with those lines, it could be a disaster.  The new technology works by way of detecting if a truck is too tall and alerting the vehicle before they get to the train crossing.
