Ocean County, NJ Officials Hope Free App Can Reduce Texting Accidents

A cell phone application that disables the phone when a motor vehicle is going over a certain speed may be a solution to reduce accidents related to distractions while driving. According to the New Jersey’s Ocean County Prosecutor, accidents involving texting provide officials with greater authority to prosecute individuals with auto assault or vehicular homicide. The Ocean County prosecutor’s office is making these applications free at no cost to the public so that accidents related to texting are prevented.
