Lead Threat Leads to Recall of Red Vines Black Licorice Twists

Posted on August 28, 2012

The threat of a lead contamination has led the Union City, California-based American Licorice Company to announce the recall of Red Vines Black Licorice Twists.  Only one lot (020413) of the 16 ounce version of the product could be endangered by the heightened lead levels.  The items should be brought back, and any parents who fear their kids ate the products should speak with a doctor.  The same goes for pregnant women that may have eaten the licorice.
