Large Police Place Bicycle Safety Decals on Squad Cars

Posted on August 2, 2012

In Largo, Florida, the police department is placing decals on its squad cars which state “Share the road, it’s the law.”  The decals are designed to bring awareness to the fact that motorists are required by law to give bicycles at least three feet of space when passing.  Cyclist groups asked the Large Police Department to do something to spread awareness about the law, and Largo is now the first agency in Pinellas County to use the decals.  Tampa previously installed the safety signage on squad cars.
