DOT Lifts Hours of Service Regulations In Drought-Stricken Areas

Posted on August 15, 2012

With this summer bringing one of the worst droughts in the country’s history, the Department of Transportation has lifted hours of service regulations on commercial truckers in areas that have been declared as having a drought emergency.  The move hopes to bring further relief to farms by allowing commercial vehicles more leeway when it comes to transferring supplies to areas in need.  Weight regulations will also be lifted so that additional items can be loaded up.
