Brooklyn Inventor Unveils Solar-Powered Light-Up Bike Helmet

Posted on August 21, 2012

An inventor from Brooklyn is touting the benefit to safety provided by his aptly named “Bicycle Safety Helmet.”  Meant to be used by cyclists at night or in inclement weather conditions, the helmet comes equipped with two-solar powered lights that can charge up during the daylight hours.  These rectangular lights will blink off and on to alert drivers behind and in front that a cyclist is in the area.  A crash that the inventor saw firsthand provided the impetus for the invention.
