Bike to the Future Study Shows Increase in Winnipeg Bicyclists

Posted on August 2, 2012

An organization known as Bike to the Future has published the results of a study which showed that 13,000 Winnipeg citizens will commute daily via bicycle throughout the year.  That’s a rise of nearly half since last year, and city officials are working hard to improve bicycle safety measures in order to cater to these bicyclists.  Buffered bike lanes along Pembina Highway are in the works, and the past five years have seen an increase in bike paths as well.  Many motorists polled, however, were nonplussed by the influx of bicycles along the roads.
