Numerous bicycling accidents along Highway 101 in Oregon have caused the Cannon Beach Gazette to repost a report regarding bike safety.  One local bike shop owner advised that all bicyclists wear a helmet as well as various reflective clothing that can alert drivers to the presence of someone along the road.  Although Highway 101 should be considered safe for riders with the requisite skills, even such persons should move with traffic and stay to the right of the fog line by a minimum of a foot.
