The city of Amarillo, Texas moved one step closer to instituting a ban on cellphones while driving yesterday, as City Commissioners largely gave their support to such a measure. However, they still want to hear more from the public before putting the ban to a vote. The ban, which has garnered the support of the Amarillo Traffic Commission, was favored by all but one commissioner, who voiced concerns with cellphone driving but said a full ban would probably be taking things a step too far.
