AMA Hopes to Curb Distracted Driving in Alberta With New Campaign

In Alberta, legislation making it illegal to drive while texting or talking on a cellphone went into effect almost exactly one year ago on September 1.  And while officials saw results at the time, bad and bizarre behaviors are starting to return. The Alberta Motor Association reports being the frequent recipient of complaints regarding violators of this law. To help people become aware of how dangerous the practice is, the organization will be traveling to high schools in Edmonton as part of an education campaign on the topic.
