California’s Move Over Law Detailed by AAA

Posted on August 22, 2012

AAA has a website designed to educate drivers on the invaluable Move Over Laws in place across the country.  These laws are put in place to make sure that emergency responders are kept safe when they have to stop along the road.  In California, when a driver comes upon a stopped emergency response vehicle, he or she is required to cut down on their speed and get into a more distant lane when it’s safe to do so.  The rule also applies to Caltrans automobiles and tow trucks that are stopped.
