Australian Motorcycle Enthusiasts Upset With Proposed Safety Gear Law

Posted on August 20, 2012

A member of the Wangaratta Highway Patrol in Australia has motorcycle riders up in arms over a proposed initiative that would make it easier for such persons to be seen by other vehicles.  In June, the patrolman offered up a proposal to require all motorcyclists to wear highly visible fluorescent clothing while on the road.  The matter still has a ways to go before the government makes it law, but that hasn’t stopped organizations like the Independent Riders’ Group from voicing their dissent.
