Overdose Threat Prompts Hospira to Recall Hydromorphone Injection

Hospira is recalling one lot of Hydromorphone Injection (12720LL) because the cartridges may contain more product than labeled. An overdose of Hydromorphone can lead to life-threatening consequences such as low blood pressure. The recalled product is a prefilled glass cartridge with an expiration date of December 1, 2013. Anyone who has the product should stop using it immediately, return it, and order a replacement.
