Complete Streets Ordinance to Improve Road Safety in Indianapolis

Posted on August 15, 2012

In Indianapolis, Indiana, the City-County Council has pushed forward what’s known as the Complete Streets Ordinance.  Although the mayor will still have to sign the bill in order to make it official, the law will affect all those streets in the area in the midst of construction.  Such streets will be the recipients of bus stops, new sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes.  The hope is that pedestrians and bicyclists will be able to better share the road with automobiles through such a measure.
