Maryland’s Montgomery County Wants Bike Share Program to be Safe

Posted on August 14, 2012

In Montgomery County, Maryland, a bike share program is scheduled to be put into place next year, but officials worry that safety could be compromised with such a measure.  A County Executive hopes to assuage fears by creating education initiatives geared toward bicyclists and making improvements to roads.  These improvements will likely include things like bike lanes.  50 bike share stations will be installed with a price tag of just over $2 million.
