Fuel Leak Hazard Prompts GM to Recall GMC Savana and Chevy Express

Posted on August 14, 2012

9,389 GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express vehicles of the 2003 and 2004 model years are being recalled by General Motors because of a defect with the fuel filler pipe’s protective conduit.  Various fluids and contaminants can become stuck in this component and lead to corrosion.  Should this happen, and a person goes to fill up their vehicle, there could be a fuel leak, which poses a fire hazard if an open flame is around.  Owners will receive a notice from GM, and dealers will provide free repairs.
