227 DC1217, DC1317, and DC1317HP wood chippers of the 2008 through 2011 model years are being recalled by Altec Industries. The frames of these chippers could experience cracking. Should that occur, property damage or an injury would be within the realm of possibility. No word yet on when the recall is set to take place, but when it does, owners can expect to be contacted. They’ll be able to bring the wood chippers in to a dealer to get frame strengthening repairs conducted at no cost.
