1.3 Million GE Dishwashers Recalled for Potential Fire Threat

Posted on August 10, 2012

1.3 million dishwashers have been recalled by the Louisville, Kentucky-based GE Appliances.  Affected units are the GE, the Hotpoint, and the GE branded Adora, Profile, and Eterna.  The heating component of these appliances can lead to an electrical issue that creates the threat of a fire.  Seven fire reports have come to the fore.  No one has said they were injured, but damage has allegedly been incurred by property.  GE should be contacted by owners and the unit should be unplugged until repairs can be conducted.
