Cougar RVs Recalled by Keystone For Spare Tire Separation Threat

Posted on August 3, 2012

Cougar 29RES and 26SAB recreational vehicles of the 2010 through 2012 model years are being recalled by Keystone.  A defect in the rear bumper is to blame.  This bumper, which holds a spare tire, is unable to endure a certain amount of metal fatigue, leading separation to potentially take place.  In such an instance, the tire or the bumper itself might come loose and possibly damage nearby vehicles.  Just over 1,000 units are being recalled, and owners of those vehicles will be notified by Keystone, after which they can obtain dealer repairs.
