Arizona Highway Patrol Changes Motorcycle Handlebars to Improve Safety

Posted on August 2, 2012

In a bid to improve officer safety, the Arizona Highway Patrol has opted to make modifications to their troopers’ motorcycles.  They have switched from Concours handlebars to Helibars Horizon ST14 multi-adjustable handlebars.  A spokesperson for the AHP stated that the old models were simply not comfortable, and over longer shifts could imperil officer safety.  Once the new handlebars were installed, he stated that handling was completely different, offering increased stability and performing well during tests.
