Words to Be Heard Chooses Scholarship Winner

A high school senior in Pennsylvania was given a $2,500 scholarship after she impressed the judges of the “Words to Be Heard” scholarship contest with her power-point presentation on the dangers of texting while driving. Her straightforward message didn’t lay out the usual statistics and logic; it spoke directly to her fellow teens in a language they understood, intercutting images of friends with poignant questions about life and loss.
