Texting Ban And Other Laws Now in Effect Throughout Idaho

Posted on July 3, 2012

In Idaho, the ban on texting while driving, along with laws pertaining to animal cruelty, licensing of massage therapists and sports safety education, went into effect July 1st. Earlier efforts to pass bills that ban texting on the road had failed. Strong influence on the bill’s passage was probably attributable to the family of a recent victim of a texting while driving accident. The teen was killed immediately after posting something online while driving. That person’s mom expressed concerns about the difficulty of telling children not to text in the car without a law to back the statement up.  By making it law, this becomes far easier.
