Students in Hamilton, Massachusetts are using a driving simulator to learn just how dangerous distractions such as texting can really be. The simulation has the same speeds and road regulations as if participants were out on the road. Students are asked to text the instructors while reacting to obstacles that could lead to different accidents. Upon completion, students are compensated with a $15 gas card and can receive a certificate online. Insurance agencies might give discounts for students who show proof of participation.
