State and Federal Grants Help Baltimore Improve Bike Safety

The city of Baltimore will soon reap the benefits of a series of grants issued at the state and federal level.  The Department of Transportation is touting six grants that aim to improve safety along the roads.  Among the initiatives that the grants will promote are the creation of bike lanes in the downtown area, an assessment of potential future pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements to the Inner Harbor Promenade, and various bike safety education campaigns.
