Prevost Recalls H3-45, X3-45, and XLII-45E Over Fire Detection Error

Posted on July 16, 2012

98 vehicles are being recalled by Prevost because brackets and clamps can scrape against the AFSS Linear Thermal Detector while the vehicles are being driven.  This component, which is used to sense a vehicle fire, can then mistakenly activate and shut off the engine, creating a crash hazard in the midst of traffic.  H3-45, X3-45, and XLII-45E vehicles fall within the scope of the recall.  Owners can get free repairs from a dealer once they receive the recall notice from Prevost.
