In an editorial from the Times-Herald of Newnan, Georgia, the author warns of the safety hazard created by distracted drivers. Two common causes of distracted driving are talking on cellphones and texting, even after the Georgia legislature outlawed texting while behind the wheel. A reader e-mailed the paper after seeing a driver doing her makeup and hair behind the wheel, thus driving erratically while two children resided in the back seat. The column asks citizens to be more responsible while on the road.
