Additional Mazuri Animal Feed Products Recalled For Vitamin D Risk

Posted on July 11, 2012

Recently, PMI Nutrition International updated a previous animal feed voluntary recall to include additional kinds of Mazuri feed products (Primate Maintenance Biscuit 25 #, Lot APR11123, Mouse Breeder 9F 50#, Lot APR20122, and Primate Basix 25#, Lot APR20123). This recall became necessary because of the risk that these products might contain a higher level of vitamin D than what is safe for consumption by animals. High levels of vitamin D can hurt animals and cause a disinterest in food, weight loss, and possible stiffness of joints.
