Posted on July 27, 2012

As previously reported, Alabama’s texting while driving ban will go into effect on August 1st, 2012. According to the University of Alabama Center for Public Safety, distracted driving has resulted in over 100 fatalities throughout the state. Many drivers are dubious about the impact such a law will have, but lawmakers are hopeful the legislation will save lives. The law makes exceptions for GPS usage and getting in touch with emergency services.
