Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally Brings Increased Drunk Driving Enforcement

Posted on July 25, 2012

With the Iowa Grand Motorcycle Rally set to bring numerous motorcycle enthusiasts out on the roads, the Iowa State Patrol has initiated an enforcement campaign that aims to crack down on any motorcyclist who is believed to be driving drunk.  Newton’s Iowa Speedway, the site of the rally, will get additional patrols, and streets surrounding biker bars will also receive particular attention.  According to the state patrol, a quarter of fatal motorcycle crashes last year involved a motorcyclist who was legally drunk.
