Queens and Other Areas See Increase in Citations Following Texting Ban

A year ago in the state of New York, a law went into effect banning the use of cellular devices for texting while driving. Since last year, there have been over 20,000 tickets issued across the state and almost 3,400 issued in Queens alone. This law was put into place to curtail the dangerous epidemic of texting while driving.  Locales across New York reported ticketing increases across the board.
