Rise in Distracted Driving Crashes Concerns Iowa DOT

The Iowa Department of Transportation has concluded that distracted drivers are to blame for an increase in crashes. Since this year started, crashes have gone up 19% from 2011. As previously reported, Iowa DOT has issued what they are calling the no-phone challenge to try and keep motorists focused on the road instead of texting or answering calls while driving.  They’re hoping to use feedback from the endeavor to craft future safety campaigns.
