Volvo Seeks to Drastically Cut Accidents With New Technologies

Posted on July 11, 2012

Volvo hopes to make their cars much safer by 2020. One of the improvements they intend to make is with autonomous driving support, which could help to keep a vehicle in its own lane and aid in following a safe distance from the car in front. Animal Detection is one other safety feature.  If an animal comes into the road, the car will theoretically be able to brake before the driver even knows that the animal is in his or her path.  Volvo’s hope with all of these improvements and more is that within eight years no one will be seriously hurt or killed while driving a Volvo.
