New Bike Passing Bill Gains Support of California Attorneys

Posted on July 10, 2012

An attorney recently appeared in front of lawmakers in California to advocate SB 1464, a bill that aims to change how drivers must interact with cyclists on the road. The new law proposes that vehicles passing from behind must give a cyclist three feet of space. The lawyer expressed his concern for safety when riding his own bike, and said he was worried that he might become another victim of an accident from a car ramming into a bicycle. The bill passed with a 10-3 vote.
