Transportation Bill Gets Thumbs-Up from National Safety Council

The National Safety Council thinks that the country is moving in the right direction in regards to teaching teenagers about the dangers of driving while using a cellphone. Recently, Congress passed a Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill which authorized a $13 million grant program that could be utilized by states to create programs which would slowly immerse youth in driving, one step at a time.  There is also a  $23 million grant program in place for states that teach teens the dangers of talking or texting on cellphones while driving.
