Milk products not declared on the ingredients label has prompted Woolworths supermarket chain to issue a voluntary recall for multiple batches of various varieties of its Macro Wholefoods chocolate products. The products affected by this recall were distributed for sale in Food for Less, Woolworths, Flemings, and Safeway supermarkets. Varieties affected by this recall include: Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate Santas, Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate Star Box, Macro Wholefoods Market Christmas 2011 Advent calendars, and Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate treats. All of the affected food products have been imprinted with a best by date between November 8, 2012 and April 17, 2012. All of these products contain individually wrapped chocolate food products that have been erroneously designated as lactose free, despite the fact that they contain milk products. Consumers with milk allergies who accidentally ingest the undeclared milk these products contain may become seriously or even deathly ill. These consumers are advised to refrain from eating these products. They can return any products affected by this recall to their original place of purchase for a full refund.
As a personal injury lawyer in Long Beach, I sincerely hope that this recall can be carried out effectively before anyone has been made ill by these undeclared milk products. If you or someone you love has been harmed or sickened by a mislabeled or defective product, please consider contacting a Long Beach car accident attorney.
