Eddie Bauer trailers recalled due to labeling error

Posted on May 4, 2012

At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Airstream Incorporated has issued a voluntary recall for 12 of its model year 2012 through 2013 International Eddie Bauer Travel Trailers due to a labeling error. Specific units of these International Eddie Bauer Travel Trailers have been distributed with component information labels that provide incorrect sizing information for the trailers tires and rims, causing these vehicles to violate federal safety guidelines regarding tire and rim information. Following the incorrect information printed on the label affixed to these vehicles might result in an incorrect tire being installed on the trailer, increasing the chances that it might be involved in an accident that could lead to severe injuries or death. Airstream Incorporated has announced plans to mail the owners of affected trailers labels containing the correct size and air pressure inflation guidelines for the trailer’s tires and rims, along with instructions on how to affix the new label to the trailer. Consumers with questions about this recall can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle safety hotline and reference NHSTA campaign identification number 12V184000.

As a personal injury lawyer in Ventura, I sincerely hope that this recall is effectively carried out in time to prevent anyone from being injured in an accident caused by this potential safety issue. If you or anyone you care about has been injured in a collision linked to a defective vehicle, please consider contacting a Ventura car accident attorney.
